Material Guide

Care by Metal Type

Sterling Silver

  • Tarnishes naturally over time when exposed to air
  • Polish with a silver polishing cloth to restore shine
  • Store in an anti-tarnish bag or with anti-tarnish strips
  • Wear often - body oils help prevent tarnishing

Gold (14K/18K)

  • Resistant to tarnish but can scratch
  • Clean with warm water and mild soap if needed
  • Store separately to avoid scratching
  • Professional polishing can remove light scratches

Rose Gold

  • Contains copper which may darken slightly over time
  • This patina is normal and adds character
  • Clean gently with a soft cloth
  • Avoid chlorine which can affect the rose color

Special Care for Memorial Pieces

Jewelry containing ashes, fur, or other memorial materials requires extra care to preserve the precious contents.

  • Never submerge in water or liquid of any kind
  • Avoid extreme temperatures which may affect the seal
  • Handle with extra care around the memorial chamber
  • If you notice any damage to the seal, contact us immediately
  • Do not attempt to open or reseal the memorial chamber yourself

How to Clean Your Jewelry

1

Prepare Your Supplies

Gather a soft, lint-free cloth (like microfiber), a small bowl, lukewarm water, and mild dish soap if needed.

2

Dry Cleaning First

Gently wipe your jewelry with the dry cloth to remove dust and oils. This is often enough for regular maintenance.

3

Gentle Wash (If Needed)

For deeper cleaning, dip the cloth in soapy water (not the jewelry itself), wring it out, and gently wipe the piece. Skip this for memorial pieces.

4

Dry Thoroughly

Use a clean, dry part of the cloth to remove any moisture. Ensure the piece is completely dry before storing.

5

Polish and Store

Give a final polish with the dry cloth and store in your jewelry box, away from other pieces that might scratch it.
